About My Challenge
Our challenge is to do one hour walk at home exercises for the week of August 2nd to 9th. Since Covid - 19. our family has been trying to stay healthy at home. We have been doing daily walk at home exercises between 30 to 45 minutes. Our goals to increase our activity time to one hour. We look for fun and easy to do exercises that Jonathan can enjoy.
We joined SAAAC 11 years ago when Jonathan was 13 years old, and we have been part of the SAAAC family ever since. Jonathan has grown and matured over those years with all of the great support that the SAAAC therapist and team have provided. He was able to get his first job 3 years ago with the help of SAAAC and he continues to work and he loves his job.
Jonathan has been improving his abilities, his creative skills, art skills, his cognitive skills and his overall life skills thanks to the support of SAAAC and the community. The days that he is not at work he is at SAAAC attending a subsidized day program.
We don't know where we would be without SAAAC, and we want to continue to support other families that are having a hard time. Raising a kid with Autism has been a challenge, and now for many families facing financial difficulties due to Covid -19 that challenge is even greater. We hope to come together with SAAAC to support all these families in need.
